I thought you’d like this.
That’s me in a moment of truth as I sat down to do some work today. Literally pulled up a blank word document, and that’s all I could muster up to say.
Normally I wouldn’t share the scrambled egg version of me, but it hit me that even though I’m all for you raising the volume of your voice, sometimes, staying quiet is the thing to do.
I’d rather see you stay quiet because your brain feels like scrambled eggs, than push through just because you’re supposed to.
I know a lot of you reading this are in the start-up phases of entrepreneurial work. That phase is tricky, because you’re doing a lot of work and taking a lot of action and not always getting a lot back from it.
The sound of crickets when you put yourself out there might feel like a threat to your nervous system, and then your instinct is to work even harder, do even more.
And yes, it does take effort and focus and action.
AND, you gotta make room for the pause. The sitting back. The rest.
Cuz when you don’t?
Crash. Burn.
Whether your body bleeds monthly or not, your body knows the pace you can sustain with the resources you have.
And when you don’t listen, it still has a say. (Crash and burn in so many ways.)
All you gotta do is listen.
Ok, that’s me for today.
